March 25th Update

Normal service has resumed! After 3+ months of craziness at my day job and a batch technical glitches, THE GRINDHOUSE EFFECT is back. We return with Part Three in our look at the life and career of Shauna Grant with a review of one of her best-known films: SUZIE SUPERSTAR (1983)!

Suzie Mitchell and her band are riding high, thanks to the unscrupulous methods of their money-grubbing manager Z.W. McCain. Money and fame are all very well, but having their lives micromanaged by a tight-fisted handler is not the sort of price the band is willing to pay for success. Their contract is air-tight, and it seems as if they’re stuck. However, when Suzie spies on McCain frolicking with a crime boss’ daughter, she hatches a plan to dump their manager and take control of her own destiny. READ THE FULL REVIEW HERE

The review features two extended video clips, which have also been added to our SCREENING ROOM and the YouTube channel.

Thanks for all the kind messages I received through social media asking what was happening with the site. With the technical issues ironed out, expect much more sleaze to come!
